Storyboards

The following storyboard is for an Infographic based on a narrative from the film 'Trainspotting'.

I decided to update a few of my college project storyboards when I realized that they needed more information. Having known what I wanted to portray at the time, I hadn't considered that if someone else was to join me on the project, they might get a different idea of what I had visualized. So I've added some camera movement and on-screen action.
The first storyboard is an exercise that I set for myself to gauge how well I could storyboard a random passage from a book without any direction.
The story board below is from my 2nd year animation short, 'The Oldest Lion'. This was a Claymation project which can be viewed at https://vimeo.com/136971695

I began with a rough board with pencil on A4 printer paper, which I then inked
I then constructed a template in Adobe In Design to add more information
The next step will be to add lighting to add some atmosphere (currently a work-in-progress)

I think adding a plan view gives a better indication of the intended set and the placement of characters.
The colours on the plan view are not representational, they're only used to differentiate the different areas.
The board below was my first idea for the IDI deign awards, also in second year. The idea was that rather than simply rescuing the castaway, he is given a design for a raft and can then save himself.
The next board was my second idea for the IDI design awards, and the one I chose to make. Originally I had submitted it in the category for 'product design' when, in hindsight, I should have chosen the 'local craft' category. So this updated version has the end title 'local craft'. The following storyboard is the first draft for the Channel Branding project. The idea was to re-brand the logo of a t.v. channel - in this case I chose the 'Science' channel.
The next board is an intro for a fictitious private detective series - Joe Malone. Hopefully this board is pretty self explanatory, though I should note that the whole thing is in colour and not just the panels that have colour.
